Sonnet: Our Faith Saves Us

Whenever hope seems lost in earthly life,
Despair begins to seize the human heart,
And joys appear replaced by newer strife,
We want divine intercession to start!

Our faith should all the more be strengthened fast;
Desert all doubts of miracles on earth;
We must take heart from our glorious past;
Increase our pleas to God with prayers’ girth!

Victory cannot elude the brave and bold;
Success will smile our way ultimately;
God opens avenues surprising world;
Our life again is transformed so stately.

Victory comes to those who trust in the Lord;
Nothing surpasses the kindness of God!

Sonnet:God Wins

God cleanses souls, allowing suffering;
The troubled minds and hearts then seek His aid;
Men offer prayers, turn sacrificing;
Their contrition and penitence gets paid.

Each person has his cup of joys and woes;
No one escapes devils’ torments with ease;
None know ‘forehand, the sprouting of life’s boughs;
Communion with God alone gives peace.

One’s cleverness can’t stall problems for long;
The storms of life can take us by surprise;
Strife makes us sing a plaintive, divine song;
We promise God to give up then our vice.

Devils too help to purify a soul!
The ones misled retrace heavenly goal.

Sonnet: A Song to God

This life of mine, I owe to you my God;
The countless blessings I have had are yours;
Without your help, my life can’t go on, Lord;
Your infinite mercy makes me rejoice.

The world I see has gone into chaos;
The people know not what is good or wrong;
The devils roam the earth and cause our loss;
Oh, hear my pleas in heart-rending a song.

My life to you I surrender, dear God;
I need your grace to keep my soul most pure;
Please spare me from Eternal fiery rod;
Just say the word, my soul will get its cure.

O God, your heart’s a furnace of great love;
So guide me and protect me from above.

Sonnet: Angeline

Sonnet: Angeline

A cheerful girl of adolescent age:
Who smiled always and helped others to laugh;
Who helped mother in chores and read each page;
Whose heart was large and suffered nightly cough!

Well-mannered girl, who studied hard and worked,
She looked after the little ones at home;
She cleaned the house and cooked and washed and joked;
Early from bed, she wore a face welcome!

A favorite of everyone, she was;
She wore plain clothes and led a simple life;
Her sudden death at fourteen was a loss;
She patiently bore disease amidst strife!

An Angel- God took her away when young;
In Heaven now, she prays to Jesus, clung!

“Is it true that good earthlings named ‘Angeline’ die early?”
Yes, may be when they live up to their heavenly names!
Dedicated fondly in memory of my elder sister

Bigger Strife Is Followed By Greater Blessings!

When batters stormy winds incessantly,
And rain in torrents pours from bursting clouds,
A sudden calm will usher in gently,
A favorable clime that covers lands like shrouds!

When troubles come in succession so fast,
And gives not time for man to escape free,
A sudden spell of freedom will be cast,
And peace will fill the mind and heart with glee.

When temptations strike terror upon soul,
And man falls prey to the devils’ designs,
The Almighty reminds man of his goals,
And places him in divine, righteous lines.

Delayed when strife, relief is imminent;
The joy that follows is too prominent!
